USDLA wouldn’t accomplish its goals without the help of its amazing sponsors!
From an administrative standpoint, as is true in most non-profits, sponsors help the Association “keep the lights on.” What sets USDLA apart, though, is the level of integration and balance between the vendor community and the practitioners. Sponsors are a key part of the USDLA family and that is by design. Starting with our Board of Directors, leading sponsors serve alongside DL teachers and administrators. Or at our conferences or events, where sponsor reps sit at the same table – be it panel discussion or a meal – alongside working practitioners.
Those of us working in distance learning have long recognized the high degree of mutual dependence – e.g., technology and teaching – on which our field depends. So we come together for our mutual growth and benefit. For instance, at a conference a college professor may learn about a new refinement in online testing that will ease his workload or enhance her delivery. Vendors have discovered “real world” tweaks that can make their products more robust or perhaps even extend their line into a new, unanticipated market.
Remember, we’re in this together because we all want to see distance learning flourish. Come join our community!
