Dr. Beverly Knox-Pipes is a Pioneer, Leader, Speaker, Innovator, and Expert in eLearning/distance education, Leadership, and Educational technology whose work has been recognized by the National School Boards Association (T&L District for innovative leadership in educational technology), United States Distance Learning Association (Outstanding Leadership in Distance Education); the Center for Digital Leadership (TOP 50 Innovative Technology Leaders in the US); Tech Learning Magazine (Top 10 Leaders to Watch); Technology Leader of the Year Finalist by Tech Learning Magazine to name a few. Through her leadership and passion for excellence, she brought national, regional, statewide, and local recognition to public school districts by transforming learning and creating models of excellence in Teaching and Learning.
Beverly has decades of experience in designing, improving, and implementing instructional systems in support of leadership, curriculum, teaching and learning, and professional development particularly focused on Distance Education and Instructional Technology. She serves on numerous boards and advisory groups focused on transforming instructional systems to meet the needs of students at all levels. She was recently elected to serve on the Executive Board of the United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA). She is a former K-12 teacher and administrator having retired from Public Education in 2012 as an Assistant Superintendent, where she served in independent school districts in Texas and Colorado, the Department of Defense Schools in Germany, and regional education service districts (ESA) serving multiple school districts in both rural and suburban areas of Michigan. Her leadership and success in designing Regional delivery systems established a model for the delivery of instruction utilizing distance education and instructional technologies for other ESA’s in Michigan and the US. She holds a Bachelor of Science (B.S.) degree in Elementary Education/Sociology from the University of Texas at El Paso (UTEP), El Paso, Texas; a Master’s in Education (M.Ed.) degree in Computers in Education from Lesley College in Cambridge, MA; a Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) degree in Distance Education and Instructional Technology Leadership from Nova Southeastern University, Ft Lauderdale, FL. Currently, she serves as an independent consultant/researcher, Speaker, and University professor and Dissertation Chair in doctoral studies.
