Dr. Smith served as Chair Emeritus of the USDLA Board of Directors. In 2009 and 2010 respectively, Reggie was elected as the association’s first African-American president and then chairman. He is also Manager, Conference Services and Telemedicine Operations for Childrens’ National Health System. His additional experience includes Senior Technical Advisor, Modeling, Simulation and Training for Janus Research Group; Deputy Director of Learning Technologies for Alion Science &Technology Corp. Vice President of Operations; Program Manager of Enterprise Managed Video Conferencing Services; Manager (National Guard Support) of Advanced Distributed Learning (ADL) Co-Lab; Assistant Manager of Network Operations (GuardNetXXI); Videoconferencing Network Engineer; Videoconferencing Manager and Satellite Traffic Manager. He has been featured and profiled in several magazines, newspapers, and television/multimedia programs reaching an audience of millions to include C-SPAN, Black Enterprise, Diverse Issues in Higher Education, USA Today, and Year in Computing.
