1 – 2 PM ET
CNBC is committed to providing accessible financial information and education to all Americans through the CNBC + Acorns financial wellness initiative – Invest in You: Ready. Set. Grow. In recognition of Hispanic Heritage Month, CNBC, in collaboration with Telemundo, will present an interactive, multi-platform, digital town hall featuring U.S. Secretary of Education Dr. Miguel Cardona.
The third Latino to serve as U.S. Secretary of Education and the proud son of Puerto Rican immigrants, Secretary Cardona will join CNBC Senior Personal Finance Correspondent Sharon Epperson for a conversation with America addressing the current state of financial education, its impact on growth opportunities for the Latinx community, and how it can lead to economic equality and equity.
Secretary Cardona will answer questions about how financial education can make an impact on the emerging generation in English and Spanish from parents, teachers and students nationwide. Following the conversation with Secretary Cardona, a panel of thought leaders and financial education advocates will discuss the long-term benefits of financial empowerment and the necessary strategies to implement change and expand financial inclusion through quality financial education in America’s schools.
During the second half of the event, users will have the opportunity to ask a member of the CNBC Financial Advisor Council their personal finance questions in an interactive second screen experience on the CNBC Facebook page. To sign up for the second screen experience, please click here.
