We are thrilled that you have chosen to submit a proposal to speak at the USDLA 2027 National Conference. You will have the option of proposing a session for the onsite event or the virtual component of the conference. Please note that the virtual sessions will be in early June, exact dates to be announced soon. The call will remain open until Tuesday, December 15, 2026, 11:59 p.m. ET.

The United States Distance Learning Association (USDLA) invites you to submit a
presentation proposal for our USDLA 2027 National Conference, taking place June
21–24, 2027, in the home of the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame, Cleveland, Ohio, with
virtual components to take place in the weeks leading up to the event (exact dates to be announced soon).

This year we are curating a dynamic lineup of high-impact, highly interactive sessions. Whether you are an industry veteran or a first-time speaker, this is your platform to share breakthrough  strategies, inspire peers across sectors, and help shape the future of digital learning.

What We Are Looking For
We welcome proposals across higher education, K–12, corporate training, telehealth, government, and military sectors. Ditch the static lecture format as our community is looking for hands-on, engaging, and deep-dive experiences.

  • K–12 Distance Instruction
  • Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Education
  • Gamification & Immersive Learning

Session Format: Concurrent Sessions (45 Minutes): Fast-paced, practical, and engaging. Need additional time for an immersive activity? Request extended time on your application.

Submission Checklist: Before beginning your submission, please gather the following details:

  • Presenter Details: Names and email addresses for lead presenter and co- presenters, plus a brief bio for the lead presenter.
  • Delivery Format: Onsite (Cleveland, OH) or Virtual.
  • Target Audience: Primary demographic for your topic.
  • Catchy Title: Succinct and descriptive (10 words max).
  • Compelling Abstract: Up to 200 words summarizing the session. Note: Approved abstracts will be published in the conference program to attract attendees.
  • Detailed Description: Outline clear learning objectives, core takeaways, and your specific plan for audience engagement (e.g., interactive exercises, polls, breakouts, Q&A).

Review Criteria & Guidelines: Proposals are evaluated on content quality, practical value, clear learning objectives, and plans for audience participation.

  • No Sales Pitches: Content must focus on innovative solutions, research, and practices—commercial promotions will not be considered.
  • Acknowledgement of Acceptance: Upon notification of proposal acceptance, you must confirm your intent to present.
  • Registration: All accepted presenters and co-presenters are required to
    register for the full conference.
  • Multiple Entries: You may submit multiple proposals or participate as a co-
    presenter on multiple sessions.
  • Supportive Environment: First-time speakers are encouraged! Our team
    provides guidance before and during the event to help you succeed.

Key Dates Deadlines

  • Submission Deadline: Tuesday, December 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. ET
  • Notification of Acceptance: Friday January 15, 2027
  • Onsite Conference: June 21–24, 2027 (Cleveland, OH)
  • Virtual Event: June 2027 (Exact dates TBD)

Yes, either as an on-site or virtual presenter, both of which have discounted rates.

No, we have presenter opportunities for both our physical and virtual conference.

Yes, all presenters will receive a certificate from USDLA and a one-year membership.
