F. Eric Brooks PhD has been appointed provost and vice president for academic affairs at Central State University (CSU). Dr. Brooks is a holistic academician having leadership experience in both academic and student affairs areas at various institutions of higher learning. Dr. Brooks brings over 20 years of experience in higher education administration, rising through the ranks of full professor, department chair, and dean.
Most recently, Dr. Brooks served as a professor and dean of the College of Humanities and Social Sciences and the Director of the Whitney Young Honors collegium at Kentucky State University. He will serve on the CSU presidents cabinet and co-chair the University Strategic Plan. The top priorities for the academy are to continue to meet and enhance the 1890 Land-Grant mission, increase degree offerings, to include graduate programs and provide flexibility in course delivery.
Dr. Brooks holds a bachelor of science and Master of Science in Counseling and Human Development from Troy University, a Master of Education from Alabama State University, a Master of Public Administration from Auburn University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from Virginia Commonwealth University.
